Different

When you become used to things unfolding a particular way, it's sometimes difficult to adjust when the exact opposite happens.  For someone unlucky in love, it's hard to believe when you've actually found a good guy.  For a Canucks fan used to post-season disappointment, it's dumbfounding to think we're two wins away from winning it all.  Pessimism has always been easier to fall into because the blind faith and belief needed to be an optimist is staggering.  However, it's what makes succeeding that much sweeter - knowing that you might have been the only one who believed from the start that it was possible.  Personally, I'm currently enjoying having my expectations challenged and proven wrong (in positive ways).  I don't think there's anything wrong with being realistic, but we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss hope.  After all, you never know when you'll need it.
