Good Intentions

It's Wednesday night and I have yet to fix Sunday's post, or write the 3 work related posts I was hoping to get up this week.  Sometimes people will tell you, "it's the thought that counts" but in the real world, those same 'thoughts' don't count for much when a deadline has come and gone.  Looks like I know how I'll be spending my weekend - playing catch up!

Rushing = Failing

So it seems that yesterday's post was a pretty huge bust when the pictures that were going to make up the post didn't actually get loaded (I'll re-post this week!) =(  It's a valuable lesson in time management and procrastination that I apparently haven't learned properly since here we are again, minutes to midnight, posting just under the gun. 

The long weekend is almost officially over and I can already tell it is going to throw the rest of my week off.  Since I spent most of the weekend working, my already easily confused sense of the days has me periodically thinking tomorrow is Monday.  While starting the day late can make you feel rushed to catch up for the remainder of it, starting the week late almost guarantees that I'll resemble the walking dead by Friday, especially with the possibility of another sixteen hour work day on Thursday.  The one bright spot?  I'll hopefully find some time this week to get a couple more interviews ready to post =)

The Last RSVP

Today is going to be quick since it's Friday and I'm having some friends over to watch the Canucks game and celebrate the weekend =)

Every time someone sends out an invitation to an event, there is always at least one person who is holding out on their RSVP because they are waiting to see what else comes up.  I believe that this is a natural reaction and will admit to being that person from time to time.

However, it seems that EVERYONE IN VANCOUVER does this.  The problem?  How are you supposed to know if you should just cancel your event since you have no idea who is coming?  This never used to bother me until the tables were turned and I became the person who organized events.

Even something as simple as a party invite on Facebook has turned into a battle for responses.  The biggest thorn in my side when it comes to Facebook?  Those that reply maybe and those that live on Facebook but have yet to respond to the invitation.  The maybe's I deal with by including 25% of them in my total expected guests.  History shows that even expecting 25% of maybe's is aiming quite high.

With that in mind - I'm off to prepare for tonight.  But before I go, let me leave you with a simple request.  Give me a break and just reply no already! =p
